See a Revit model at real size in AR on your iPhone. Choose an FBX export, check the size, create the USDZ file, then tap View in AR.
Your file stays on your device. It is opened and converted inside this browser tab. Nothing is uploaded, stored or shared, and this page runs no analytics.
The AR Viewer needs JavaScript and a recent browser: Safari on iOS 16.4 or newer, or a current Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari on a computer.
1. Choose your FBX
In Revit, open a 3D view and use File › Export › FBX. For a phone, export one level or zone at a time.
Large model. Large models may be slow on phone. Export one zone or level from Revit.
2. Units and real size
Revit writes FBX files in feet.
Check one size you know, like a room or a duct run. If it is wrong, change the unit.
That size looks unusual for a building model. Check the unit above.
3. Preview
Your model shows here after you choose a file.
4. Create USDZ and view in AR
Makes the AR file from the model above: real size in metres, centred, with its lowest point on the floor.
View in ARAR works on iPhone/iPad Safari. You can still download the USDZ file.
If AR does not open, open this page in Safari.
What this does, and what it does not.
Scale. Revit writes FBX in feet, and the tool converts to metres before it makes the USDZ, so AR shows the model at real size. Check one known dimension before you rely on it.
Position. The model is centred and its lowest point sits on the floor. It is not placed at its site location or turned to face north.
Colours. Only materials saved inside the FBX come across. An FBX with none shows plain grey, and textures stored on the computer that made the FBX are skipped.
Faces. AR draws each face from its front side only, the same as the preview.
Size. In testing, a 27.6 MB Revit FBX made an 84 MB USDZ. If a phone struggles, create the USDZ on a computer, send it to the phone, and open it from the Files app.
